For children ages 5-10. Call or stop by the Children’s Room to register in person starting March 15th!
Paws for Reading is a program that pairs licensed therapy dogs with children who need more confidence in their reading skills. Children learning to read can feel like they are being judged by classmates and adults but dogs do not judge! This allows for children to not only practice reading and speaking out loud, but gives them a chance to build confidence in their reading skills.
Each registered child will receive a ten minute session with a therapy dog and may read whatever book they would like.
IMPORTANT:
We cannot hold your slot if you do not arrive on time. Time slots of no-shows may be given away. If you arrive late during your time slot and it has not been given away, you will only be allowed to read until the end of your registered time slot. 5 mintues late = 5 minutes of reading time.
Please come with a book to read or come early in order to choose a book.
