TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH at 7:00PM

Berry Gordy wrote the Jackie Wilson hit Lonely Teardrops but barely made any money. So he started his own record company named Motown. The label played an important role in the racial integration of popular music achieving crossover success. Motown launched the careers of Diana Ross & the Supremes, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, the Jackson Five, and many more. Includes classic video of Motown's early years. Presented by Rick Feingold. Rick teaches American Business History at Bergen Community College and holds a degree in History from Rutgers University. Register here via LibCal. You will receive an email reminder the day before; the Zoom Link is sent out one hour before the program begins. This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Glen Rock Library.
