Join us this month to discuss The Henna Artist by Alka Joshi. Escaping from an arranged and abusive marriage, seventeen-year-old Lakshmi makes her way alone from her 1950s rural village to the vibrant pink city of Jaipur. There she becomes the henna artist, and confidante, most in demand to the wealthy women of the upper class. But trusted with the secrets of the wealthy, she can never reveal her own. Copies of the book are available at the Library. Digital copies are available on Hoopla and Libby. You must register here through LibCal to receive the Zoom link. The Zoom link is sent out one hour before the discussion. If you have trouble connecting on Zoom, please contact Ellen O'Keefe, okeefe@glenrock.bccls.org.
