George Washington, Barbados & the American Revolution

  • Glen Rock Public Library 315 Rock Road Glen Rock, NJ, 07452 United States (map)

Thursday, January 24th at 7:00pm

Evan Weiner explains how a young George Washington’s visit to Barbados influenced the American Revolution. Instead of a pleasant winter trip to an idyllic tropical paradise, George becomes seriously ill and while recuperating educates himself on the island’s military defenses. Join us to learn how this “working vacation” played an important role in General Washington’s career. Sign up by contacting the Reference Desk. Co-sponsored by the Glen Rock Historical & Preservation Society and the Friends of the Glen Rock Library.
